Terms of Use

Acceptance of the Terms

FaithBot is a website and service developed and operated by the Innovation Team of the International Mission Board (IMB) ("we," "us," or "IMB"). These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy, govern your access to and use of FaithBot. By using FaithBot, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Changes to the Terms

We may revise and update these Terms from time to time in our sole discretion. All changes are effective immediately when posted. Your continued use of FaithBot after changes are posted means you accept them, so please review this page periodically.

What FaithBot is — and isn't

FaithBot is a companion for exploring faith and asking questions about Jesus, the Bible, and life. It is a first step and a helper — not a replacement for the Bible, a local church, a pastor, or trusted people in your life. It is not professional medical, legal, financial, or mental-health advice.

Accessing the service and account security

Signing in is optional. If you choose to sign in, you are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your access secure. We may withdraw or amend the service at our discretion, and we do not guarantee it will always be available or uninterrupted.

Prohibited uses

You agree to use FaithBot only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

AI has limits

FaithBot's responses are generated by artificial intelligence and can be incomplete or wrong. Do not rely on them as a sole source of truth. Always double-check important information — and especially any Scripture — against a trusted Bible and wise people you know. FaithBot points you toward truth; it is not itself an infallible authority.

Intellectual property

The service and its entire contents, features, and functionality (including text, displays, images, design, and their selection and arrangement) are owned by the International Mission Board, its licensors, or other providers of such material, and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. The FaithBot name and related marks are marks of IMB. Scripture quotations remain the property of their respective publishers and are used according to their terms. No right, title, or interest in the service is transferred to you, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved. You may freely share your own conversations.

Disclaimer of warranties

YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, ITS CONTENT, AND ANYTHING OBTAINED THROUGH IT IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PROVIDED BY LAW, IMB DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Limitation on liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PROVIDED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE INTERNATIONAL MISSION BOARD, ITS INNOVATION TEAM, AFFILIATES, OR THEIR LICENSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OFFICERS, OR DIRECTORS BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, UNDER ANY LEGAL THEORY, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, EVEN IF FORESEEABLE.

Governing law and jurisdiction

All matters relating to the service and these Terms, and any dispute or claim arising therefrom or related thereto, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the internal laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without giving effect to any choice- or conflict-of-law provision. Any legal action arising out of or related to these Terms or the service shall be instituted exclusively in the courts located in the City of Richmond or the County of Henrico, Virginia, although we retain the right to bring proceedings against you for breach of these Terms in your country of residence or any other relevant country.

Waiver and severability

No waiver by IMB of any term or condition shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of that or any other term. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.

Entire agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and IMB regarding FaithBot and supersede all prior understandings.
